About the Company
Our client is a fast-growing energy solutions provider helping commercial businesses significantly reduce their energy costs. Through a combination of commercial solar installations and lower, fixed-rate energy supply contracts, they deliver long-term financial savings and energy security to organisations across the UK. As they continue to expand, they are seeking a proactive Business Development Manager to drive growth across the South region.
Role Overview
This is a hybrid field-based role suited to a highly motivated B2B Business Development professional with a strong track record of generating new business and exceeding targets. The BDM will focus on identifying, engaging, and converting commercial clients looking to lower operational costs through renewable energy and strategic energy supply solutions.
Key Responsibilities

  • Proactively generate new business leads across the South region through networking, prospecting, outreach, and industry engagement.
  • Conduct meetings with commercial clients to understand energy needs and present tailored solar and fixed-price energy solutions.
  • Manage the full sales cycle from initial contact through to close.
  • Build and maintain a strong pipeline of opportunities, consistently achieving or exceeding monthly and quarterly targets.
  • Develop strong relationships with key decision-makers across a broad range of commercial sectors.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to support proposal development and ensure smooth onboarding of new customers.
  • Maintain high levels of market knowledge, including competitor activity, energy trends, and regulatory developments.
  • Represent the business at events, trade shows, and networking opportunities across the region.
Skills & Experience Required
  • Proven track record in B2B sales with consistent target overachievement.
  • Strong experience in proactive business development and self-generated lead creation.
  • Experience within the energy supply, renewable energy, or commercial solar sector is highly beneficial.
  • Ability to communicate complex energy solutions in a clear, commercial, and compelling way.
  • Confident presenting to senior decision-makers and building long-term commercial relationships.
  • Driven, ambitious, and motivated by financial targets and career growth.
  • Full UK driving licence.
