About the role




Are you looking for an exciting and varied role where you will be working with the Active Communities Team who support the physical, mental and social wellbeing of our communities. If you are passionate about improving the quality of life for our residents, and supporting refugees and guests to integrate into society then this is the role for you.

ssential criteria for the role (pull across the most essential qualifications, skills, knowledge and experience, not all of them)





experience of working with and delivering community-based activities and events to targeted groups. Whilst understanding the barriers that prevent inactive people, particularly in rural areas from participating in sports and physical activities. excellent written, oral and IT communication skills, and ability to present information to a range of audiences in both written and verbal formats. understanding of the needs of a diverse range of cultures, and a positive approach to embracing equality and diversity. ability to assess, plan, prioritise, implement and evaluate and produce accurate reports and maintain accurate records. experience of partnership working and specifically of developing and delivering multi-agency partnership initiatives.

Key responsibilities for the role





plan, promote, deliver, and evaluate a sports and physical activity and creative arts programme that reduces levels of inactivity and promotes social integration. work in partnership with leisure providers, local clubs and voluntary organisations to develop and deliver activities appropriate for the target audience identified. Build relationships with migrant community groups and community partners to engage, support and develop new programmes. promote an active and healthy lifestyle through presentations, websites, social media, press releases, local newsletters, and targeted promotion. support the recruitment, training and development of volunteers and coaches to make the programmes sustainable.
