Do you know the Corby area? Are you friendly and understanding, kind and compassionate? You could be just what our clients need!
Many people we support are new to the area, and might feel isolated, or lack confidence to access local services. The role of a volunteer befriender focuses on practical support, encouragement, and companionship, helping individuals and families to reconnect with their community and move forward. As a befriender you will help residents to build a new life, maybe you'll support them as they visit a new social group, help them register at the GP or simply sit and have a coffee and chat. No matter what your background, culture, age or experience, we're looking for reliable and enthusiastic volunteers to support our clients in our refuges.
We ask for 2hours of volunteering per week, for at least 6 months.
