Are you an experienced midwife with a minimum of 3 years post registration experience looking for a role where you can truly make a difference? This is an exciting opportunity to join our dedicated Bereavement Team as a Band 7 Bereavement Midwife, supporting families through their most difficult moments with compassion and expertise.

These roles offer the opportunity to make a meaningful impact by providing tailored emotional and practical support to families experiencing pregnancy and baby loss. You will work closely with multidisciplinary teams to ensure holistic care, fostering a compassionate environment that upholds best practices in bereavement support working across both Queen Charlotte's & Chelsea Hospital (QCCH) and St Mary's Hospital (SMH).

To be the midwifery lead by managing and providing continuity of care and support for women and their families who have experienced fetal loss or the death of their baby in the maternity setting, collaboratively working with key stakeholders.



To act as an educational resource for medical, nursing and midwifery staff on physical, psychological and administrative aspects of bereavement care.



Liaising with the multidisciplinary team, including joint working with the Consultant Obstetricians at allocated clinics and contributing to multidisciplinary meetings when required in relation to perinatal mortality.



Enhance your expertise in bereavement care through ongoing professional development, training, and interdisciplinary collaboration.



Leadership & Innovation:

Engage in service development to continuously improve bereavement care across both maternity sites.



Networking & Research:

Build connections with local and national bereavement networks, contributing to research and evidence-based practice.



Holistic Approach:

Strengthen your communication and counselling skills by supporting families with sensitivity and professionalism
