The

BESS Service Engineer

at Fluence is responsible for managing long-term service agreements and customer relations for Battery Energy Storage Systems. The role ensures safety, quality, and timely service delivery while adhering to Fluence's core values and competencies. It requires relevant electrical engineering qualifications and certifications.


Key Responsibilities



Safety & Compliance

+ Ensure safety issues are logged into the system.
+ Adhere to troubleshooting processes and service procedures.
+ Manage contractors according to safe systems of work and standard work instructions.

Service Management

+ Manage Long-Term Service Agreements for a portfolio of Battery Energy Storage Systems.
+ Perform warranty and contracted services onsite in a timely, cost-effective, and high-quality manner.
+ Undertake Preventative Maintenance activities and investigate complex issues onsite when required.

Customer Relations

+ Act as the first point of contact for customers and advocate their interests within Fluence.
+ Document and track customer issues from initial occurrence to resolution.
+ Track site availability, including outages and excused events.

Technical Coordination

+ Investigate issues proactively using DAS and equipment logs.
+ Interface with Software, SDC, RMDC, Nispera, and Spare Parts teams.
+ Escalate delays to the Senior Service Engineer.
+ Schedule approved contractors for maintenance.

Project Management

+ Develop and implement project management plans.
+ Coordinate work and ensure resource availability.
+ Control contractor invoices and payments.

Continuous Improvement

+ Maintain a continuous improvement mindset.
+ Identify and propose process amendments where necessary.

Skill Requirements



Degree in Electrical or Electronics Engineering or similar background.

(Alternatively, equivalent training and 5+ years of job experience in electrical energy.)
Strong communication skills. Demonstrated ability to prioritize tasks and manage risks objectively. Previous experience in a customer-facing service role preferred.

Required Certifications



Safety and aptitude certifications according to industry standards in the respective countries of deployment.
