The Hull City Council Deprivation of Liberty Team (DoLS) are looking to recruit a part time permanent Best Interest Assessor as well as a full time Best Interest Assessor on a short term basis to cover maternity leave.
It is a hugely exciting opportunity for motivated and passionate Best Interest Assessors to be part of this new team and drive forward best practice for DoLS and the implementation of the Mental Capacity Act across the organisation.

About you:
You will be a qualified Best Interest Assessor who will champion the completion of Best Interest Assessments and Mental Capacity Assessments for Hull City Council. You will be expected to provide advice, guidance, and mentorship to the workforce on the correct application of the MCA and the DoLs process. You will ensure that a person's Article 5 right to liberty and security and Article 8 right to respect for private and family life, home and correspondence are protected. You'll have strong relationship building skills and an understanding of the role of other organisations that will enable you work effectively with external partners. You will be provided with ongoing training and development opportunities, regular formal supervision and ongoing informal support to promote your learning, development and confidence.
