Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Retail Assistant on a fixed term basis as part of the Bettys retail team at our pop up shop based at Castle Howard near York. We opened for the first time last Christmas and we delighted to be returning to build upon the success of last year.


As a Retail Assistant you will be responsible for providing the highest level of service to deliver a deliciously magical experience for every customer. This role is fixed term from November 2025 until early January 2026.


We are interested in hearing from you if you are looking for a part time role and able to work one day at the weekend. Please cover in your application the number of days you are available. Start and finish times will be staggered throughout the day which is dependent on the opening hours, which change slightly as we get closer to Christmas. The shifts may include some early mornings or later finishes. If you would like to discuss working patterns please provide more details in your application.


About you




You will have a keen interest in customer service and the ability to work at pace. You will have good communication skills and the ability to work well with others as we rely on our strong team ethic to deliver the highest levels of quality and customer service. You will have the desire to learn all about our products and be able to confidently share your knowledge and enthusiasm with our customers. Previous experience working in a customer facing environment and knowledge of food safety and health and safety procedures is desirable but not essential as full training is provided.
