Bexley Home Treatment Team Manager, Band 7



Permanent, full time - 37.5 hours per week



We are looking for a highly skilled and experienced Mental Health Practitioner to manage and lead the Bexley Home Treatment Team. This post will be an exciting role for an individual who has proven management potential and a desire to influence and lead clinical practice and service development within the crisis mental health pathway.



This exciting opportunity is suitable for a Registered Mental Health Practitioner with recent experience in an acute and crisis mental health setting, ideally with some team manager experience already. You should enjoy working within a busy and challenging environment and must be able to work effectively under pressure. You will have a sound knowledge of mental illness and therapeutic interventions and be competent in independent mental health assessment. You will have excellent communication skills and understand the need to build strong relationships with both internal and external agencies.



The post-holder will be responsible both for the day-to-day operational management of the HTT and the development of the service.



The post-holder will ensure that the team delivers a high-quality service to people in crisis and their carers and collaborates effectively with other clinical teams within the adult mental health directorates, and with partnership agencies.



To be responsible for the day-to-day management of and clinical support to the multidisciplinary team to ensure the best quality clinical care



To ensure the team demonstrate advanced clinical assessment and risk management skills



To ensure the team operate within Oxleas clinical policies and procedures



To ensure that clinical communication is effective between all team members and other services within Oxleas and external agencies



To ensure that effective communication is maintained at all times with the Borough Crisis Teams Manager, alerting them to any concerns without delay



To ensure the team provide clients with high quality information related to their mental and physical health needs, and the services available to them



To ensure the team maintains high quality clinical records and activity logs



To be responsible for ensuring the Professional Codes of Conduct are adhered to within the multidisciplinary team



To take a leading role in the implementation of evidence-based practice within the team



To ensure the team participate in appropriate audit and research activity

To ensure the teams personnel resources are deployed to provide a clinically safe and effective service with adequate shift cover



To promote and utilise suitably skilled temporary cover appropriately



To play a lead role in the recruitment of new staff within the team



To be responsible for the planning and facilitation of induction programmes for new members of the team



To provide line management supervision (and where appropriate clinical supervision) for team members in accordance with Trust supervision standards



To operate in accordance with all Human Resource policies and ensure team awareness of these.



To ensure all team members fully participate in the Trust's Personal Development Review system



To evaluate and identify individual staff member's educational needs ensuring professional updating and development as appropriate



To ensure that staff training records are maintained



To utilize performance and sickness absence procedures where appropriate



To ensure the team operates within its operational budget, proactively identifying any areas of overspends with the Borough Crisis Teams Manager



To carry out all E-rostering tasks required to plan and confirm staff utilisation



To ensure the team works closely with other Oxleas inpatient and community teams to ensure timely, good quality care for people assessed in the Emergency Department and general wards



To ensure the team works effectively with local authority, primary care and third sector agencies to ensure timely, good quality care for people in crisis



To ensure the team works effectively with neighbouring borough's services to ensure timely, good quality care for people in crisis



To represent Oxleas at meetings with partnership agencies in relation to crisis services delivery as required to ensure the best possible collaborative working
