Manage and co-ordinate the bidding process to deliver bids that win new business opportunities/renewals or secure positions on Frameworks. Ensure that all bids are delivered on time, within budget, and to the highest standards of quality. Deliver high-quality, compliant, and high-scoring submissions in response to customer requirements, and support the Head of Bids - Projects, in securing the company's position as the preferred solution provider.
Hybrid role between Manchester office (1 to 2 days per week) and Home. Occasional travel to other offices as necessary.
Main Duties
The development and implementation of the overall commercial and technical proposal strategy, including the development of win themes, differentiated solutions, and pricing strategies.
Analyse tender documentation and associated specification and develop a clear understanding of the client's requirements to ensure that the bid addresses all of the customer's need and is fully compliant.
Conduct research to gather information about the client, their industry, and their competitors to ensure the proposal is tailored to their needs.
Develop and manage the detailed bid plans that outline the required response, bid programme, and resource requirements for all the activities required to complete each bid. This includes defining milestones, setting deadlines, and coordinating team activities to ensure that the bid is submitted on time.
Coordinate the input of various cross-functional teams, including commercial, technical, legal, and subject matter experts, to ensure a comprehensive and high-quality submission. This includes leading the team through the entire process, providing guidance on content, structure, and messaging, and ensuring that all team members understand their roles and responsibilities.
Review storyboards and other documents to ensure that all of the requirements are addressed, translate win strategies into clear and compelling bid themes and direct the writing and editing of bid text.
Where required, write and edit clear and concise technical responses, solutions descriptions, and other critical components of the bid response that effectively communicate the company's value proposition.
Brief Bid Writers and other contributors, ensuring that they understand the customer's requirements and the company's bid strategy.
Direct the implementation of review feedback into the bid text, ensuring that the bid is refined and improved at each stage of the review process.
Support bid review teams by providing subject matter expertise, facilitating discussions, and ensuring that review feedback is captured and acted upon.
Ensure that all bid documentation is fully compliant with the client's requirements. Proofread and edit proposal materials to ensure accuracy and consistency and that all documentation is submitted in a timely manner.
Contribute written responses/expertise to bids being delivered by other bid teams within Mitie

What we are looking for
Proven experience as a Bid Manager in the construction industry, with a strong track record of securing new business/renewals/framework positions through bids and proposals.
Strong project management skills, with the ability to develop and deliver a detailed bid plan and to manage the bid process from start to finish.
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to brief Bid Writers and other contributors, and to work closely with cross-functional teams to gather information and develop winning bid strategies.
Strong attention to detail, with the ability to write, edit and proofread documents to ensure that they are error-free and meet the highest standards of quality.
In-depth knowledge of the bidding process, with the ability to analyse the ITT/specification documentation and allocate resources to ensure that the bid is compliant and high-scoring.
Collaborate with commercial and estimating colleagues to develop competitive and profitable pricing strategies, ensuring bids align with Mitie's commercial objectives.
Open to and able to continuously improve through training, development and the application of new tools.
Proficiency in using Microsoft Office Suite and Adobe Acrobat Pro. Experience using AI software preferred but not essential
