Traditionally in the areas of decommissioning and waste management, NSG now has a broad customer base and provides a wide spectrum of services across the nuclear project lifecycle, ranging from expert consultancy support, R&D and engineering design to rekit and refurbishment, site installation services and high-hazard physical decommissioning works, amongst others. This work is delivered at NSG's own offices and purpose-built facilities and nuclear sites across the UK. The delivery and management of these projects and programmes of work is carried out by a skilled workforce composed of both white-collar and blue-collar personnel in technical, administrative, and physical roles.

The Role



?



To provide technical, commercial, and team leadership in the delivery of proposals, tenders, and Requests for Information (RFIs) to clients, ensuring responses meet defined standards for quality, timeliness, and budget. This role underpins NSG's technical and commercial integrity, as well as its overall competency

Key Objectives

Bid Management



?



Responsible for preparing bids to time cost and quality in accordance with the company procedure and ensuring continuous improvement through the bid lifecycle. Leadership and coordination of bid teams including timely bid input to/from partnering organisations. Leadership of win strategy sessions including development of win themes and ensuring these are clearly incorporated throughout our responses. Liaison with the suppliers and subcontractors to gather suitable quotations to support tenders. Ensuring adherence to internal and external governance processes and timescales. Managing post submission clarifications. Ensuring that delivery teams have the necessary information to start the work at handover. Helping to maintain our library of tender response information and case studies with support from the marketing team

Commercial Awareness & Business Management

Developing and maintaining effective relationships across all the company's functions and departments and with client personnel. Maintaining awareness of NEC forms of contract. Dealing with subcontractors in a commercially astute manner in pursuit of maintaining the right balance between risk and profitability. Supporting business growth by sharing useful information and intelligence with the Company Appreciating and understanding the potential impact of own actions for the company, clients, and suppliers.

Technical Competency

Understanding detailed technical documentation (including engineering technical specifications) and using it to underpin tender offerings (e.g. producing work breakdown structures, planning tender response content) ?Leading the development of detailed and reliable project schedules using Primavera or Microsoft Project. Leading the production of detailed cost estimates from bottom-up principles. Producing detailed written technical proposals, with the support of the wider engineering community. Applying risk management principles to ensure well underpinned proposals (e.g. risk registers, assumptions, time risk etc). Delivery focused and meeting deadlines within defined timescales. Ensuring clear and effective communication with all stakeholders. Delegating responsibilities and managing direct / indirect team members to achieve a common goal. Ensuring personal, professional, technical and commercial competency through continuing professional development.
