NRS-UK is a leading provider of community equipment services across the UK, specialising in the procurement, supply, logistics, and storage of community equipment, assistive technology, and medical equipment. We work in partnership with local authorities, NHS ICBs, and Trusts to deliver essential services that support independent living and improve quality of life. This is achieved by supplying high-quality products and services through a range of established framework agreements and service providers.

We are seeking an ambitious, proactive Bid Writer to join our growing Commercial team. You will play a key role in crafting compelling, compliant, and persuasive responses to public sector tenders, including Requests for Proposals (RFPs), Invitations to Tender (ITTs), and Pre-Qualification Questionnaires (PQQs). Your work will directly contribute to securing contracts that enable NRS-UK to deliver vital community equipment services across the country.

This is a full-time, permanent position, covering 37.5 hours per week, Monday to Friday, based at NRS' Leicestershire site.

What are my responsibilities?



Content Development: Write clear, engaging, and tailored responses that highlight NRS-UK's strengths, values, and service capabilities. Support social media management, content creation, and posting. Bid Structuring: Ensure responses meet client specifications, word/page limits, and evaluation criteria. Research & Insight Gathering: Collaborate with subject matter experts across logistics, supply chain, and operations to gather accurate and relevant content. Editing & Proofreading: Maintain high standards of grammar, consistency, and clarity across all bid documents. Collaboration: Work closely with the Bid Manager, Commercial Leads, and operational teams to align messaging and strategy Continuous Improvement: Maintain a library of reusable content, case studies, and evidence to support future bids.

What qualifications & skills are required of me?



3+ years in Bid Writing (essential), demonstrating a proven track record in securing contracts. Preferably educated to degree level in Business, Marketing, English, Healthcare, or a related discipline (or equivalent experience). APMP or similar bid/proposal management certification is desirable. Understanding of local authority and NHS procurement frameworks and public sector commissioning. Familiarity with portals such as Atamis, Proactis, or Jaggaer. Exceptional writing and editing skills, with the ability to translate technical information into accessible, persuasive narratives. Strong analytical thinking to shape responses that reflect client needs and NRS-UK's unique value proposition. Excellent attention to detail and the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines. Confident communicator with the ability to engage stakeholders across departments. Organised and self-motivated, with a proactive approach to managing multiple bids simultaneously. A team player who is happy performing duties outside of Bid Writing when required.

What would working for NRS offer me?



Annual salary of 40,000. 32 days' annual leave (including bank holidays), with additional days accrued over length of service. A hybrid schedule of three days on-site and two days working from home. Free on-site parking and free yearly flu jabs. 25% employee discount.
