Role Overview

As the Bid Writer / Administration Assistant you will play a vital role in supporting our business development and commercial functions. You will contribute to the preparation of bid & tender documents, administrative support for contract submissions, maintaining bid databases and assisting with general office/administration tasks. You'll ensure that our proposals reflect MK Contracts' values of excellence, integrity and client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities

Prepare, write and edit tender and bid documents (public and private sector) ensuring compliance with client requirements and submission deadlines. Collate and manage supporting documentation (company credentials, case studies, CVs, certificates, references, financials). Liaise with internal teams (estimating, operations, finance, health & safety, etc.) to gather information required for bids. Maintain a bid tracker/database: upcoming opportunities, deadlines, status, outcomes. Assist in production of presentation materials, proposal templates, standard responses and document libraries. Administer general office tasks: filing (digital and paper), archiving of completed bids, correspondence, meeting scheduling, minute taking as required. Provide administrative support to the commercial team: maintaining supplier/client contact lists, updating CRM or spreadsheets, preparing reports. Ensure that all bid submissions and documentation meet quality standards, house style and company brand tone. Monitor bid outcomes & feedback, support continuous improvement of tender responses. Ad-hoc support for operations/maintenance / project management teams when required.
Person Specification

Essential:



Strong written English skills: ability to write clear, concise, persuasive proposal text. Excellent administrative skills: organising, filing, data-entry, managing multiple deadlines. Familiarity with bid/tender processes in construction or similar sectors would be highly advantageous. Good interpersonal skills: able to liaise with internal stakeholders and pull information together. Strong attention to detail, ability to produce accurate work under pressure. Proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and comfortable working with digital filing systems. Self-motivated, reliable, able to work both independently and as part of a small team.

Desirable:



Experience in the construction, refurbishment or maintenance sectors. Familiarity with databases/CRM systems, bid management software. Knowledge of ISO standards, health & safety certifications, commercial risk and compliance documentation. Previous involvement in win/loss analysis, continuous improvement of bid libraries.

Pay: 36,004.60-55,871.13 per year
