About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated

Big Data Analyst

to join our growing data team. This role is ideal for candidates at all experience levels--from recent graduates with strong analytical skills to seasoned professionals with extensive big-data expertise. You will work closely with cross-functional teams to collect, analyse, and interpret large data sets to drive business insights and decision-making.

This is a

fully remote

position; however, the candidate must be located in the UK with full work eligibility.

Key Responsibilities

Collect, process, and analyse large and complex datasets from multiple sources. Develop, maintain, and optimise big-data pipelines using modern data-engineering tools. Generate meaningful insights through data mining, statistical analysis, and data modelling. Work with stakeholders to understand business challenges and provide data-driven solutions. Build dashboards, reports, and visualisations to present findings effectively. Ensure data quality, integrity, and security across all systems. Collaborate with data engineers, data scientists, and business teams.

Required Skills & Qualifications :

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Engineering, or similar. Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills. Basic understanding of SQL, Python, or R. Knowledge of data visualisation tools (e.g., Tableau, Power BI). Familiarity with big-data concepts (Hadoop, Spark, cloud platforms) is a plus. Proven experience working with large datasets in a professional setting. Proficiency in SQL and one programming language (Python, Scala, or R). Experience with big-data frameworks (Hadoop, Spark, Hive). Expertise in data modelling, ETL processes, and cloud services (AWS, Azure, GCP). Strong reporting and dashboard development experience. Extensive experience leading data projects or working in big-data ecosystems. Deep expertise in distributed computing frameworks, data warehouse/lake architectures, and cloud infrastructure. Ability to design scalable data solutions and mentor junior team members. Strong business acumen and ability to translate data into strategic insights. Experience with machine learning or predictive analytics. Knowledge of DevOps and CI/CD for data pipelines. Experience working in Agile environments. Familiarity with GDPR and data governance best practices.
