Billing clerk responsibilities:
  • Prepare bills based upon company policies and fee earners instructions
  • Liaising with different departments within the organisation to ensure that bills contain the correct information
  • Utilising accounting systems to aid fee earners and their secretaries with the production of timely and accurate bills and invoices
  • Assist with other financial transactions where required
  • Inducting and training new staff in the billings process
  • Querying errors on bills with partners, fee earners and their secretaries, as appropriate, with a view to getting the errors corrected
  • Dealing with billing queries from partners, fee earners and the support teams as necessary
  • Assisting in the preparation of information to enable matter group bills to be prepared
What we\'re looking for:
  • Must be IT literate with experience of using the Microsoft suite
  • Experience of using a range of finance packages would be seen as beneficial
  • Experienced with inputting and processing large volumes of data
  • Work well within an office environment
  • Be able to follow deadlines and ensure that a high quality of work is completed within these deadlines
  • Effective verbal and written communication
  • Must be numerate, methodical and accurate and have attention to detail
  • A robust approach to relationships and interactions with colleagues and a positive team spirit is essential
