Billing, Pricing & Tariff Analyst

who would like to help us reach our mission to "earn customer loyalty and drive business growth by providing consistently excellent service".

Purpose of this role



The Billing, Pricing & Tariff Analyst will be integral to ensuring our billing system is maintained to allow accurate and timely bills to be issued to all customers.

Your key responsibilities are



Supporting the BUUK SOX audit requirements by undertaking pre and post billing checks, taking appropriate action where required.

Preparation of estimated meter readings for water and heat prior to billing.

Ensure all billing activities adhere to regulatory obligations.

Resolution of complex customer billing queries within service level agreements.

Support Complaints Case Handler to resolve billing complaints in line with GSS guidelines.

Undertake audits to ensure that the retail records are up-to-date and listed as intended.

Provide regular management reporting to the senior management team.

Identify areas where the billing system can be enhanced to tighten internal controls and enhance efficiency.

Take responsibility for developing, testing, and driving through any billing system improvements by working closely with other departments within the business.

Consult and work with various stakeholder groups to promote the clarity of bills issued to customers.

Ensure clear presentation is maintained over time.

Take responsibility for the introduction of new products and prices into the billing system in a timely manner (recognising the regulatory timescales).

Undertake regular system audits to ensure existing tariffs are current and correct.

Work to simplify and automate customer record management.

Liaise with the Systems Analyst to identify and implement system enhancements to facilitate the achievement of BUUK objectives for the water, heat and fibre businesses.

Liaise with other departments within the business to promote awareness and understanding of the billing processes.

Any other duties as required by the manager.

Qualifications



A level or equivalent standard of education.

Experience/Knowledge



Experience of analysing data.

Sufficient knowledge and aptitude to create new procedures and working practices.

Abilities/Skills



Customer service orientated.

Attention to detail, with strong written and communication skills.

Able to work independently and make decisions.

A desire to help others, with a willingness and ability to take ownership of issues through to resolution.

Able be able to deal with changing priorities and situations.

Organised, methodical, and motivated.

Computer literate.

Desirable



Degree or equivalent standard of education.

Experience of training staff.

Experience in the Utilities sector.

Conditions of Employment

You are required to have your criminal records checked through the Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS). This is due to handling and processing sensitive customer data.
