About the role:




This newly established role offers the rare opportunity to define and develop the BIM function at Skerritts from the ground up, playing a pivotal role in shaping its strategic direction and implementation.

What you'll do:




You'll be responsible for establishing, shaping, and leading the company's BIM processes, ensuring the high-quality design and coordination of Mechanical, Electrical, and Plumbing (MEP) systems across all projects. Collaborating closely with design and delivery teams to integrate BIM effectively into our workflows, you will also serve as a central point of contact for all BIM-related matters, both internally and with external project partners.

Key Responsibilities

:

Refreshing and continually improving BIM templates, libraries and families, continually improving and setting up of BIM processes. Produce, maintain, and coordinate Revit MEP models and associated drawings and sheets in compliance with internal standards and external BIM execution plans (BEPs), typically from RIBA Stage 3 through to handover at RIBA Stage 6. Ensure quality control of Revit outputs including sheets and revisions, model health, geometry accuracy, data integrity, and data & model sharing. Drafting and producing drawings in AutoCAD, as required. Implementing and maintaining protocols, processes, and procedures, ensuring model management and structure consistency across all projects. Assisting the Directors and Managers in business reporting and procedures. Liaising and collaborating with Clients, project teams and supply chain regarding any queries relating to the information flow and model sharing, resolving in a satisfactory and timely manner. Provide BIM training, support and guidance to our internal teams. Identify areas where workflows can be improved, formulating and propose workflows to streamline our procedures to improving efficiency and accuracy.

About you:




You already have an advanced proficiency in Autodesk Revit, Navisworks, BIM360 and AutoCAD, able to take the initiative and lead in promoting, implementing, and assisting in the successful delivery of projects through BIM. You are comfortable and confident liaising with a diverse audience, including Directors, department heads and project teams, and used to driving the adoption and optimisation of BIM practices throughout an organisation.


We believe the following skills and attributes will set you up for success in this role:

Excellent attention to detail, with clash avoidance and resolution. Proficient user of cloud-based Document Management portals/Common Data Environments, such as Autodesk Docs, Asite, Procore and BIM360. MEP building services, preferably with an emphasis of electrical systems. A great understanding of ISO19650 and BIM workflows. Following BIM Execution Plans (BEP) and similar associated project requirements. Expertise in COBie (Construction-Operations Building Information Exchange) data management and a strong understanding of industry standards. Experience in Bluebeam Revu and Trimble StabiCAD software applications. Experience in automation of task using scripts within Dynamo and similar would be beneficial. BRE Academy BIM Certifications
