Job Title: Bin Wagon Driver
Location: Cumbria, South west Scotland and Northumberland
Reports To: Transport Manager
Job Type: [Full-Time]
Salary: Up to 17 per hour including bonus payments. (44,200 per year OTE)
Hours: Guaranteed min 10 hours per day, 5am/6am start to finish
North West Recycling is expanding, and we're looking for reliable and hardworking Bin Wagon Drivers to operate waste collection vehicles and perform routine waste and recycling collections from commercial customers. The ideal candidate will have experience driving large vehicles, knowledge of waste disposal procedures, and a commitment to excellent customer service.
Operate bin wagons (refuse collection vehicles) in a safe and efficient manner.
Collect and transport waste, recycling, and food bins according to scheduled routes.
Work closely with loaders to ensure timely and complete bin collection.
Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any faults or required maintenance.
Ensure proper disposal of collected waste at designated facilities.
Follow health, safety, and environmental regulations at all times.
Record collection data and report any issues such as blocked access or missed bins.
Provide courteous service to the public and respond to inquiries when necessary.
Maintain cleanliness and basic upkeep of the vehicle.
What We're Looking For
Valid Class 2 (Category C) HGV licence
Driver CPC and Digital Tachograph Card
Experience driving refuse collection vehicles (preferred but not essential)
Strong communication skills and a team-focused approach
Reliability, punctuality, and a professional attitude
