Interviews will be held on site on Tuesday 9th of September
We are inviting applications for the opportunity to become a key member of the senior management team of Fairhill Rise, Pishwanton Woods, part of Ruskin Mill Trust's growing network of biodynamic provisions. Set in a 60-acre landscape of unimproved grass meadows, diverse woodland, and productive gardens where vegetables, fruits, salads, and herbs are grown, all managed using biodynamic methods. We provide opportunities for meaningful participation for adults with learning disabilities; they take an active role in all aspects of processing the produce in line with our seed to table approach, and as part of social enterprise projects.
We are looking for candidate with the following skills, knowledge and experience:
Ability to manage the day-to-day running of a biodynamic holding and to organise and deliver meaningful workshop activities for the adults who attend the service
A good understanding of the seasonal requirements of the holding and ability to apply this by managing productive gardens in summer and implementing the woodland management plan during winter months, including liaising with and instructing contractors where appropriate
A genuine interest the biodynamic (BD) principles and methodologies and how to integrate them into all aspects of the operation of the holding and wider provision
To ensure the health and welfare of all livestock (geese, chickens, and ducks) on the holding, which may include livestock breeding, rearing and finishing
Maintain Demeter Certification and ensure an annual successful quality assurance of Demeter Certification and that inspection reports are shared with the Directors and Ruskin Mill Land Trust
Working for Ruskin Mill Trust is incredibly rewarding; we offer competitive salaries and holiday allowances, an auto-enrolment pension scheme with a salary sacrifice option, a health cash plan and employee assistance programme via Medicash.
In addition, staff receive valuable training opportunities including an in-depth interactive induction with other Biodynamic Land Managers within the Trust and also opportunities for further training and academic research, including our own MSc in Practical Skills Therapeutic Education.
