Job Description

An exciting opportunity is now available for a permanent Band 6 post at King's College Hospital (KCH) in the Stem Cell Laboratory, Department of Haematological Medicine. The Stem Cell Laboratory provides a dynamic and exciting working environment, and supports the Bone Marrow Transplant Unit at KCH by processing more than 200 transplants per year for the patients in the London South East area.
Main duties of the job
The Stem Cell Laboratory is a highly regulated working environment with an emphasis on product quality. We are seeking applications from experienced an enthusiastic HCPC registered Biomedical Scientists looking for career development. They will take part in the day-to-day running of the Stem Cell Laboratory, which is motivated by a drive for clinical excellence and scientific progress. The successful candidate will have to work closely with clinical colleagues and possess an understanding of the requirements of JACIE, the Human Tissue Act and MHRA requirements relevant to stem cell transplantation.

The successful candidate will hold an appropriate IBMS recognised degree and preferably a specialist portfolio in the Stem Cell Transplantation discipline. Experience in GMP, sterile working, cleanroom procedures, cryopreservation, flow cytometry and cell culture would be viewed favourably.

  • Technical Problem solving e.g. equipment failure, quality control failure
