Biomedical Scientist - Cellular Pathology (Band 5 - 37.5hrs/week) - 12 month fixed term contract to cover maternity leaveAn exciting opportunity has arisen for suitably qualified Biomedical Scientists to join our friendly but busy Cellular Pathology team at Stockport NHS Foundation Trust. The Department handles in excess of 22,000 surgical histology requests and 1600 non-gynaecological specimens per year.
Main duties of the job
Suitable candidates will be required to have proven Cellular Pathology knowledge, experience and successfully completed their IBMS registration. You will need to be able to demonstrate that you are self-motivated, organised and participating in CPD activities.
You will be working alongside Medical Laboratory Assistants', Assistant Practitioners, Biomedical Scientists, Junior Medical staff and Consultant Pathologists and will be expected to rotate through all sections of the laboratory and take part in our early/late rota's following relevant training.
The department currently uses digital pathology and Vantage workflow management systems. The successful candidate will be required to engage fully with this process and support day to day running and development of the service.
