Summary of

the Bioplant Plant Technician role





Based at our site in Cramlington and reporting to the Bioplant/AD Manager, the Bioplant Plant Technician will be responsible for the day-to-day operation of our Anaerobic Digestion (AD)/Bio plant. Your duties will include monitoring plant performance to prevent breakdowns, assisting with engineering tasks and fault-finding to ensure efficient operation. You will also support the testing and offloading of tankers and ad-hoc materials, maintaining strict safety and quality standards. A proactive approach to housekeeping is essential, and you must be capable of working independently.




Your responsibilities


Work in a safe and responsible manner, wearing appropriate PPE Issue permits and ensure work is completed safely Control, and work to, conditions in SOPs Conduct workplace inspections, audits and investigations as required Manage data to facilitate statutory reporting Keep the AD plant running efficiently Keep the Gas to Grid plant running efficiently Monitor operational conditions and adjust as required Perform BioMethane Potential tests and manage waste acceptance procedure Perform analysis and maintain data files Liaise with Waste Manager to maximise commercial and onsite waste throughput Liaise with customers and drivers to control commercial waste Coordinate with Bioplant staff to ensure smooth running of Ad and Vitox plants Provide support and cover for all aspects of Bioplant operations Use SAP to manage inventory and maintenance scheduling Support and assist Maintenance Technician Ensure the AD plant is maximising waste throughput and gas generation Test waste to ensure optimum plant loading Embodying our company values, which are: be reliable, be caring, be transparent and be willing.



Requirements for the role


Degree or equivalent experience in chemical engineering, chemistry or associated subject Experience of operating a waste treatment plant Previous experience of working in the AD industry will be an advantage Laboratory experience will be an advantage Effective communication skills Organisational skills Team development Data management and interpretation Effective time management Self-motivation Stakeholder management
