Job Description

Join our dedicated Birmingham - SP - Erdington Safeguarding Team as a Qualified Social Worker, where your expertise will make a meaningful impact on the lives of vulnerable children and families. In this vital role, you will work collaboratively with a multi-disciplinary team to assess needs, develop care plans, and implement safeguarding strategies to ensure the safety and well-being of children in our community.
Your key responsibilities will include:

  • Conducting comprehensive assessments of children and families to identify risks and support needs.
  • Developing and reviewing care plans in partnership with families, ensuring they are tailored to individual circumstances.
  • Working closely with external agencies, including schools, health services, and law enforcement, to coordinate effective safeguarding interventions.
  • Maintaining accurate and up-to-date case records, ensuring compliance with statutory requirements and local policies.
  • Providing support and guidance to families, empowering them to make positive changes and access necessary resources.
To be successful in this role, you must possess the following qualifications and skills:
  • A recognized Social Work qualification (e.g., Degree in Social Work, DipSW, or equivalent).
  • Registration with Social Work England.
  • Proven experience in safeguarding children and families, particularly in a local authority setting.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage effectively with diverse populations.
  • Knowledge of relevant legislation, policies, and best practices in child protection and safeguarding.
