The Role




To be a key member of the Digital Surfacing Team, producing world-class surfaces from concept through to design freeze in an automotive design studio environment. This role requires collaboration across multiple studio disciplines to ensure that design intent is faithfully captured and translated into production-ready surfaces.



Duties/Responsibilities



Create digital models using poly-modelling techniques in Alias Sub-D Work closely with the Digital Surfacing Lead to deliver high-quality surfaces for core projects Develop and deliver assigned surfaces according to project timelines and milestones Collaborate with designers to interpret sketches and translate them into accurate 3D surfaces Partner with internal and external stakeholders to ensure hardpoints and boundary conditions are respected Apply Sub-D and hybrid surfacing techniques to rapidly develop models throughout the product lifecycle Maintain the latest release and work-in-progress (WIP) master surface files to ensure the design team has access to current data Conduct reviews to ensure all surfaces meet Norton's quality standards and highlight any non-compliance issues Stay current with industry trends, software developments, and surfacing processes to continuously improve team capability

Experience and Qualifications



Degree in Automotive Design or equivalent professional experience Minimum 3 years' experience as a Sub-D Modeller in an automotive or motorcycle design environment Excellent proficiency in poly-modelling techniques Proven experience working within cross-functional design teams to deliver surfaces to deadline * Skilled in Alias Sub-D (NURBS experience advantageous)
