We are now hiring

two Blockchain Developers

to join our in-house tech team in Scotland. These are

in-person roles

, based in or near Edinburgh, and will focus on building a

custom, ground-up blockchain

to serve as the foundation of a new financial technology platform with integrated gold and silver-backed assets.

About the Role

As a Blockchain Developer, you'll be at the heart of designing and building a completely new blockchain protocol --

not a fork or clone

-- with original architecture, consensus mechanisms, and cryptographic systems. You'll collaborate on core infrastructure, protocol design, and tools to support nodes, wallets, and ecosystem components.

This is a rare opportunity to build something entirely new, with significant autonomy and real-world impact in a mission-driven, entrepreneurial environment.

Key Responsibilities

Architect, develop, and optimise a custom blockchain protocol from the ground up Design and implement consensus algorithms (PoS, PoA, hybrid, or novel approaches) Develop peer-to-peer networking layers and cryptographic modules Write clean, efficient, and secure low-level code in Rust, Go, C++, or similar languages Design node software and tools for transaction validation, block creation, and state management Develop supporting SDKs, APIs, and explorer tools for developers and integrators Collaborate on wallet development and secure transaction signing processes Perform rigorous code reviews, stress tests, and security audits Stay informed about emerging protocols, Layer 1 innovations, and performance tuning techniques
What We're Looking For

Minimum 3-5 years of hands-on blockchain development experience, preferably at the protocol level Deep understanding of distributed systems, consensus algorithms, and P2P networking Proficiency in Rust, Go, or C++ (must demonstrate low-level development skills) Experience building or contributing to Layer 1 protocols or significant blockchain infrastructure Strong understanding of cryptography, secure key handling, and hashing algorithms Familiarity with architecture of Bitcoin, Substrate, Tendermint, Cosmos SDK, or similar is a plus Experience with CI/CD workflows, GitHub version control, and testing frameworks Self-starter mindset with an ability to think both strategically and architecturally Comfortable working in a small team with autonomy and accountability
