Purpose of the Role






To work within the Mechanical & Electrical (M&E) Consultancy team in London, and colleagues in other business streams e.g. Intelligent Buildings, Building Project Consultancy and Management (BPC) and Property Management. The BMS Consultant shall be responsible for undertaking consultancy duties associated with Building Management Systems (BMS), Energy Management & Metering Systems (EnMS) and Integrated Communications Networks (ICN's) whilst promoting excellence in M&E and Building Management and Optimisation standards within the M&E Consultancy Team.


The experience shall include leading teams through challenging projects and providing innovative solutions using their skills, knowledge and experience.




Key Responsibilities






To perform expert level consultancy duties across the Savills managed portfolio to include auditing, specifying, tendering and project managing new / upgrade BMS's, EnMS's and ICN's To undertake feasibilities and prepare reports, budget costs for new / replacement systems To undertake BMS and Metering audits, identifying optimisation, energy efficiency and operating shortfalls To undertake design and development of BMS, EnMS, Metering and Networking specifications To undertake project duties including site monitoring duties in respect of BMS, EnMS & ICN's To review and manage engineering business risk in support of property management instructions To assist in the development of technical consultancy services to enhance the service offering to both internal and external customers To help develop M&E Consultancy excellence and its "Trusted Advisor" status in-line with the Savills brand and promote the M&E Consultancy services within the wider Savills business Manage internal and external relationships including Client, Savills, local authorities, service providers and statutory bodies Provide technical support & advice to the Surveyor and RFM teams Review updates in legislation, Net Zero Initiatives and monitor innovation in buildings and their services In addition to the tasks described above, the job holder may be required to carry out other duties as may reasonably be required from time to time



Skills, Knowledge and Experience



Qualified in a Building Services Engineering, Mechanical / Electrical or Environmental engineering or similar subject area Excellent Controls, M&E and Consultancy skills underpinned by appropriate professional qualifications and ongoing learning Good time management skills Excellent communication skills Strong interpersonal and influencing skills Design Software such as AutoCAD, Revit, Bluebeam Office Software / Document Control Office365, Outlook, OneNote, Sharepoint and Teams Communication/Automation Protocols BACnet, Niagara, KNX, LON, ModBus, DALI, OPC, LoRaWAN, IOT Protocols HTTP / XML, MQTT, Rest API's Internetworking LAN, WAN's, Routers, SSL / VPN Firewalls, TCP/IP, UDP, SMTP Operating Systems Linux, Windows, VM's & Virtualised Environments



Working Hours - 37.5 hours, Monday to Friday, 9am to 5.30pm
