is based at Cookes Furniture on the borders of Sutton Coldfield / Erdington.

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled

Driver & Furniture Installer

to join our two-person, white glove team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for the delivery and installation of furniture in various settings, ensuring that each piece is set up correctly and meets customer satisfaction.

This role requires a strong ability to communicate effectively with clients, as well as the physical capability to handle heavy lifting and operate delivery vehicles.

This is a

part-time, self-employed (or contracted) role

, daytime only, typically 2 to 3 days a week which will suit someone needing flexible work.

Responsibilities

Deliver and install furniture at customer locations, ensuring all items are handled with care. Assemble furniture according to specifications and ensure proper functionality. Communicate clearly with clients regarding installation processes and any potential issues. Perform heavy lifting and manoeuvre large items safely during delivery and installation. Maintain a clean and organised work environment, including the vehicle used for deliveries. Receive deliveries at our warehouse and store them properly. Remove rubbish from customers homes / our warehouse and dispose of according to regulations. Adhere to all safety protocols while driving and handling furniture.

Experience

Previous experience in furniture installation or a related field is preferred. A valid, full UK driving licence with no more than 3 points is required, along with experience as a van driver. Familiarity with warehouse operations is useful. Strong communication skills are essential for effective interaction with customers and team members. Ability to perform heavy lifting consistently and safely throughout the workday.
This position offers an exciting opportunity for individuals who enjoy hands-on work and take pride in delivering exceptional service to customers. It also offers personal flexibility in that the majority of our customer installations are Wednesday to Friday between 10am & 4pm and normally within 50 miles of Birmingham.
