Job Overview

We are looking for book people to join our team at Oxfam Darlington Charity Shop!

Working in our busy charity shop's large 1 floor book-room, our book volunteers are responsible for quality checking new donations in line with Oxfam's standards, and pricing them according to our pricing policy. They replenish the shelves and create eye catching displays on the shop floor and in the window, and cull unsold books when necessary.

The ideal person will be:

a team player, happy to work with a mix of people; able to work on their own initiative; reliable and hardworking; interested in books and reading.
We are looking for volunteers who can work a minimum of one morning or afternoon shift a week.

We can offer our volunteers valuable work experience in a retail environment, and the opportunity to directly contribute to Oxfam's mission to achieve a just world without poverty. We can provide references for our team, and we can provide travel costs in accordance with our expenses policy.
