Overview
We are seeking an experienced Bookkeeper with a solid background using Sage Cloud (Sage Business Cloud Accounting). The successful candidate will play a key role in maintaining the company's financial records, supporting management with accurate reporting, and ensuring smooth communication with our external accountants.
Responsibilities
Maintain up-to-date financial records using Sage Cloud / Sage Business Cloud Accounting
Perform regular bank reconciliations and provide reconciled data to the external accountant
Prepare VAT return paperwork and supporting documentation for review by the external accountant
Manage purchase and sales ledgers, including supplier payments and customer receipts
Support the Director with day-to-day financial queries and decision-making
Communicate effectively with external accountants, suppliers, and other stakeholders
Ensure all financial data is accurate, organised, and compliant with HMRC requirements
Experience
Minimum 3 years' experience in a bookkeeping role
Strong knowledge of Sage Cloud / Sage Business Cloud Accounting
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy in data entry
Good understanding of VAT processes and bookkeeping best practices
Confident working independently and managing multiple priorities
Strong communication and organisational skills
AAT qualification or similar
Experience preparing management reports or supporting year-end processes
