Summary
We are seeking a skilled Bookkeeper to join our team at AAC Service & Maintenance Ltd. This role is essential in maintaining accurate financial records and supporting our commitment to exceptional customer service. The Bookkeeper will play a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of our financial processes.
Responsibilities
Accounts administration and provision of financial reports
Acting as the central point of contact for all financial matters.
Regulatory compliance
Key Tasks
Core Duties:
Data Entry - record financial transactions and balancing the books
Bank Reconciliation - cross reference the books against bank statements etc. to confirm accuracy
Reconcile sales and purchase ledgers
Ensure relevant and accurate accounting records are maintained in order to comply with all statutory requirements imposed by, but not limited to: HMRC, Companies House, Pensions Regulator
Prepare and submit monthly & quarterly VAT returns
Monthly Reports - summarise business financial position
Accounts Receivable:
Create and send invoices
Process payments received
Credit Control
Accounts Payable;
Process all purchase invoices and ensure accuracy
Upload payments to the bank for approval
Resolve any supplier payment/invoice issues
General:
Act as the main point of contact with accountants, bank, payroll, pension scheme and maintain regular contact
Deal with staff expenses and petty cash
Process credit card transactions
Salaries/Subcontractors:
Prepare monthly payroll for submission to the payroll processing house
Upload net salaries, HMRC and pension payments to the bank for approval
Process monthly Subcontractor payments and CIS deductions
Process monthly PAYE and CIS returns to HMRC and upload relevant payments to the bank for approval
Other Financial Planning and Reporting:
Assist Accountants with the annual statutory accounts

Qualifications
Qualified Bookkeeper or qualified by experience
Excellent standard of English and Maths
Excellent computer skills including Word; Excel; Outlook, Accounting Software (Xero or similar) and CRM Software (JobLogic or similar)

Experienced Bookkeeper able to prepare VAT and CIS returns
Ability to present financial information to a range of stakeholders in the most appropriate format
Ability to prioritise workload and to set deadlines
Ability to work well as part of a small team providing any required support to other team members
