We are seeking an experienced and reliable Finance Officer to join our team on a 12-month maternity cover basis. This is an exciting opportunity for a confident and proactive individual to take ownership of key accounting tasks in a dynamic and supportive environment.
You will be supported by a part time accounts assistant, who will handle most day to day administrative finance tasks, allowing you to focus on higher-lever responsabilites and reporting.
We are looking for a trustworthy and detail-oriented individual who:
- Can work independently and as part of a small finance team;
- Demonstrates strong initiative and problem-solving skills;
- Is confident, accurate, and committed to meeting deadlines;
Key Requirements:
- AAT Level 3 qualified (or equivalent);
- Proven experience with payroll processing, ideally using BrightPay;
- Proficiency in Xero accounting software;
- Familiarity with ApprovalMax and AutoEntry is desirable but not essential;
- Strong working knowledge of the Microsoft Office suite, especially Excel;
Key Responsibilities:
- Processing monthly and fortnightly payrolls using BrightPay;
- Coordinating weekly pay runs;
- Preparing and submitting statutory returns including VAT, MGD, Bingo Duty, and returns to the Gambling Commission;
- Performing bank reconciliations;
- Managing the sales and purchase ledgers, including invoicing;
- Handling accounting aspects related to caravan sales;
- Preparing information for monthly management accounts, including: intercompany reconciliations, accruals and prepayments, wage journals and associated reports;
- Assisting the external management accountant by providing accurate and timely reports as required;
- Supporting our accountancy firm with the preparation and filling od year-end accounts;
- Assisting with Self Assessment submissions;
- Collaborating with other departments to provide wage analysis and general finance-related support as needed;
