to support our finance function on a fixed-term contract. The assignment will run for approximately three months and will focus on ensuring our financial records are accurate, complete, and compliant, particularly as we transition from QuickBooks to Xero and prepare for year-end.
Key Responsibilities
Finalisation of year-end accounts in preparation for review.
Supervising and mentoring a junior bookkeeper to ensure transactions are recorded correctly in Xero.
Producing accurate and timely management reports for internal stakeholders.
Overseeing accounts payable and receivable, ensuring proper authorisation and reconciliation.
Processing payroll in accordance with statutory requirements.
Performing reconciliations across all relevant accounts.
Maintaining accurate and up-to-date financial records within Xero and (where required) QuickBooks.
Acting as a professional point of contact for client queries, both by phone and email.
Supporting project management with tailored financial reporting.
Identifying and implementing process efficiencies to strengthen internal controls and reporting accuracy.
Candidate Requirements
Minimum of 10 years' proven bookkeeping experience.
Demonstrable expertise with
Xero
and
QuickBooks
.
Excellent attention to detail, accuracy, and compliance awareness.
Ability to manage workload independently, prioritising effectively to meet deadlines.
Strong communication and mentoring skills.
