Job Summary
We are seeking a highly-organised, detail-oriented Bookkeeper to support our finance and operations team across two businesses. This is a part-time role with flexible working hours (equivalent to 3 days per week.
The successful candidate will be responsible for will be responsible for day-to-day financial operations, maintaining accurate financial records to trial balance, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring the accurate and timely processing of payroll.
Proficiency in Xero accounting software is essential for this role.
Key responsibilities include (but are not limited to):
Maintain accurate financial records using
Xero
.
Process purchase invoice ands payments.
Bank and Credit Card reconciliations.
Raise and issue sales invoices for reoccurring and miscellaneous income, prepare monthly revenue report.
Credit control, ensuring tenant accounts are paid in a timely manner, chasing arrears and supporting debt recovery processes
Prepare and submit VAT returns.
Handle the full payroll cycle using
Xero payroll
, including calculating wages, deductions, and pensions.
Ensure compliance with HMRC regulations.
Assist with monthly management accounts, audit preparations, and end-of-year accounts.
Maintain Fixed Asset Register.
Problem-Solving: Investigate and resolve discrepancies in accounts promptly.
Admin tasks including mailbox scanning, holiday tracking, and supplier checks
Experience
Minimum of 2 years experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role within an accounting department.
Proficiency in accounting software Xero is essential.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills to manage multiple tasks efficiently.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team, demonstrating strong communication skills.
AAT qualification or equivalent would be an advantage but is not essential.
