We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records for our clients, managing accounts payable, and ensuring compliance with financial regulations. This role will involve working closely with clients to support their and our overall business objectives.
Occasional travel to meetings will be required so own transport and being local is a must. Travel expenses will be reimbursed for this.
Responsibilities
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Xero, Hubdoc and Apron.
Reconcile bank statements.
Reconcile accounts payable and receivable.
Prepare monthly and quarterly VAT returns.
Complete month-end tasks such as balance sheet checks and entering payroll journals.
Collaborate with clients directly and their appointed accountants if necessary.
Assist in the implementation of new accounting systems and processes as required.
Provide support for any ad-hoc financial projects or analysis as needed.
Skills
Proficiency in accounting software, including QuickBooks or Xero is essential.
Strong understanding of accounts payable and receivable processes, and general accounting principles.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret financial data accurately.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to liaise with various stakeholders.
A proactive approach to problem-solving and a willingness to learn new systems or processes.
Qualifications to a minimum of Level AAT 3 desired, but experience will be considered more valuable within a practice setting.
Other desired skills, but not mandatory, are payroll processing and CIS experience.
