Where You Fit In
We're looking for an experienced, reliable Bookkeeper to take ownership of our day-to-day finances and management reporting.
This is a hands-on role suited to someone who enjoys bringing order, structure, and clarity to a growing hospitality business.
We're looking for an individual who takes pride in their work, communicates clearly, and feels real accountability for getting things done, ideally someone who can work alongside the founder, from our Totnes office when needed (exact location to be decided).
Responsibilities
Bookkeeping & Financial Control
Own the day-to-day bookkeeping across the business, ideally with experience of multi-site hospitality or accommodation businesses.
Ensure transactions are accurately recorded and allocated correctly across sites and cost categories.
Maintain clean, up-to-date records at all times.
Management Accounts, Reporting & Modelling
Produce monthly management accounts, owning the P&L and Balance Sheet.
Support the creation and maintenance of budgets and financial forecasts, including cashflow forecasting.
Prepare clear, reliable reports including:
Revenue reports for Site Managers
Monthly sales reports
Overall business performance and tracking spreadsheets
Ensure reports are delivered on time and can be trusted for decision making.
Payments & Cashflow
Be responsible for taking payments from guests and paying suppliers.
Keep a clear handle on cashflow, timing, and upcoming liabilities.
Ensure suppliers are paid accurately and on time.
Efficiency & Cost Control
Price compare suppliers and services where appropriate.
Identify efficiencies and opportunities to reduce costs without compromising quality.
Flag issues, anomalies, or risks early.
General Financial Administration
Handle day-to-day financial admin as needed to keep the business running smoothly.
Work closely with the founders and wider team, answering questions and providing clarity where needed.
Liaise with external accountants where required.
About You
An experienced bookkeeper, ideally with hospitality or multi-site accommodation experience.
Highly organised, detail focused, and methodical. You take pride in getting things right.
Reliable, communicative, and accountable. You do what you say you'll do.
Comfortable owning financials end-to-end and working independently.
Practical and hands-on, with good commercial awareness.
Happy working part-time (3-4 days per month) and ideally able to work from our Totnes office.
You value clarity, good systems, and well run businesses.
Job Type: Part-time
Pay: 20.00-25.00 per hour
Expected hours: 5 - 8 per week
