We are looking for a talented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team and play an important role in the delivery of our Accounting & Finance services.
The Role
As a GrowBe Bookkeeper you will manage day-to-day financial administration tasks for a portfolio of clients, working alongside other Bookkeepers, Accountants and Finance Directors.
The successful candidate will have plenty of bookkeeping experience and excellent communication and client-handling skills; a key aspect of our finance administration work is regular, pro-active contact with our clients including gathering receipts and answering queries.
Key Responsibilities
Perform data entry with meticulous attention to detail,
Management of sales and purchase ledgers,
Reconciliation of bank accounts,
Preparation of pay runs,
Balance sheet reconciliations,
Assist with monthly and quarterly management accounts and tax returns,
Liaise with clients, their external suppliers and their customers as required,
Support the wider finance team as needed as well as ad-hoc project work.
On any given day you could be...
Processing purchase invoices and setting up pay runs,
Doing bank reconciliations,
Preparing VAT and/or CIS returns
Talking to clients about ad-hoc queries,
Communicating with clients' suppliers on their behalf,
Improving internal processes and quality controls.
Qualifications, experience and personal qualities:
Essential:
Formal Accountancy qualification, minimum AAT Level 3 or equivalent,
Strong experience working in an accounting/bookkeeping practice.
Good working knowledge and experience of Xero,
Good understanding of VAT,
Experience of working with multiple SMEs and Start Up businesses,
Excellent data entry skills and an ability to produce work with a high level of accuracy,
Excellent communication and interpersonal skills with a commitment to exceptional client service,
Flexibility and adaptability with a willingness to embrace change and contribute to the growth of the firm.
Desirable:
Strong Google Suite skills,
Expertise in processing full start to finish payrolls,
Experience in accounting software and technology such as Dext.
Experience in budgeting and forecasting work,
Good understanding of accounting practices under FRS 102 and FRS 105.
