Job Overview
We are seeking a meticulous Bookkeeper with at least 2 years' experience to join our accounts team. This is an opportunity to work within a business that prioritises accuracy and efficiency, where your attention to detail will directly contribute to maintaining our high standards and facilitating continued growth. You'll be part of a collaborative team that respects process, values compliance, and takes pride in delivering exceptional results working closely with the head of Accounts.
Responsibilities
Maintain accurate ledgers and perform reconciliations for multiple accounts
Manage credit control, monitoring and reconciling outstanding receivables, and taking appropriate follow-up actions to ensure timely payment
Prepare and submit CIS returns in compliance with HMRC regulations
Prepare weekly aged payable reports
Support preparation of client financial reports
Management reporting including KPI development
Ensure compliance with internal controls and accounting standards
Process supplier invoices and ensure timely approvals
Assist with monthly invoicing and distribution
Credit Control administration
Requirements
Previous bookkeeping experience (multi-account experience desirable) with a minimum of 2 years' experience
Construction Industry Scheme experience
Strong attention to detail and organisational skills
Proficiency in accounting software Xero and Microsoft Office
Ability to manage deadlines and work independently
Excellent communication skills for liaising with internal teams and external partners
Relevant qualifications in accounting or finance are desirable but not essential
