Job Overview


We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Bookkeeper to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable and receivable, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards. This role requires proficiency in various accounting software and a strong understanding of financial concepts. The Bookkeeper will play a crucial role in supporting our financial operations and providing valuable insights through financial reporting.

Responsibilities



Maintain and update financial records using accounting software such as QuickBooks, Quicken, Sage, or Xero. Perform general ledger accounting, including journal entries, account reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation. Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collections. Prepare financial reports in accordance with GAAP standards to provide insights into the organization's financial health. Conduct bank reconciliations and ensure accuracy in all financial transactions. Assist with payroll processing and maintain payroll records accurately. Support budgeting processes by analyzing financial data and providing recommendations for cost control. Collaborate with external auditors during the annual audit process by providing necessary documentation and reports. Stay updated on tax regulations and assist with tax preparation as needed.

Skills



Proficiency in accounting software (QuickBooks, Quicken, Sage, Xero) is essential. Strong understanding of corporate accounting, non-profit accounting, public accounting, governmental accounting, and technical accounting principles. Familiarity with double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, journal entries, account analysis, and account reconciliation processes. Knowledge of financial concepts including budgeting, bank reconciliation, and balance sheet reconciliation. Excellent financial report writing skills to communicate findings effectively. Strong attention to detail with the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Proficient in 10 key typing for accurate data entry tasks.
