Job Summary:



We are a fast-growing seafood wholesaler and processor seeking a highly organised and experienced Bookkeeper/Accounts Administrator to manage the day-to-day financial administration of the business. This role involves hands-on responsibility for accounts, payments, billing, chasing overdue invoices, cashflow organisation, payroll and company paperwork.

The successful candidate will also play a key role in providing financial insight and advice to help management structure the business more efficiently, improve financial controls, and develop better internal processes.

This is an in-person role based at our Leicester facility, working approximately 20 hours per week.

Key Responsibilities:



Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable. Chase overdue customer payments and monitor debtors. Prepare, schedule and process supplier payments. Manage all company bills, utilities and service charges. Produce cashflow updates and weekly financial summaries. Support financial planning & provide recommendations to management. Advise on improvements to business financial structure, cost control, and processes. Support development of better financial systems and controls. Maintain and process payroll including timesheets and adjustments. Process & file invoices, statements, delivery notes and documentation. Maintain organised digital and physical filing systems. Prepare month-end reports for directors. Liaise with accountants, suppliers and management as required. General administrative and financial duties.

Experience & Qualifications:



Minimum 3 years bookkeeping experience (required) Experience providing financial advice & business recommendations (preferred) Experience with accounts administration including chasing payments Payroll experience (required) Experience improving internal financial processes (preferred) Proficient in Sage / Xero / QuickBooks Advanced Excel skills preferred SME background ideal
