As Bookkeeper you are responsible for maintaining accurate financial records for the organization. This role involves recording daily financial transactions, managing accounts payable and receivable, reconciling bank statements, preparing financial reports, and ensuring compliance with accounting principles and company policies.
Key Responsibilities:
Record day-to-day financial transactions and complete the posting process.
Reconcile bank, credit card, and other financial accounts on a regular basis.
Maintain general ledger and subsidiary accounts by verifying, allocating, and posting transactions.
Manage accounts payable and accounts receivable, including invoicing and collections.
Prepare and process payroll or assist HR/finance team with payroll data.
Generate accurate financial reports, such as balance sheets, income statements, and cash flow statements.
Assist with budgeting and financial forecasting.
Support the preparation of tax filings and work with external accountants or auditors as needed.
Maintain and organize financial documentation for audits and compliance.
Ensure compliance with applicable laws, accounting standards, and internal controls.
Qualifications and Skills:
Proven experience as a Bookkeeper, Accounting Clerk, or similar role.
Strong understanding of bookkeeping and accounting principles.
Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Xero, Sage, or similar).
Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
Strong organizational and time-management skills.
Good communication and interpersonal skills.
Proficient in Microsoft Excel and other office software.
Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (preferred).
