Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organised Bookkeeper to join our finance team. The successful candidate will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, managing accounts payable, and ensuring the integrity of our accounting processes. Proficiency in various accounting software platforms and a strong understanding of bookkeeping and finance principles are essential for this role. Responsibilities

Manage day-to-day bookkeeping activities, including data entry and record keeping Maintain accurate accounts payable records and process invoices promptly Reconcile bank statements and ensure all transactions are correctly recorded Utilise accounting software Xero to update financial data Manage and utilise all aspects of Xero for efficient bookkeeping. Prepare sales invoices and manage incoming payments from clients. Reconcile incoming and outgoing payments to ensure accuracy. Conduct cashflow forecasts to aid in financial planning. Build strong relationships with clients' finance teams to facilitate prompt payment. Update and manage annual and monthly forecast budgets. Oversee outgoing payments to suppliers to maintain strong vendor relationships. Process weekly CIS payments and manage monthly payroll. Handle VAT submissions and CIS submissions. Prepare for end-of-year accounts, ensuring accuracy and compliance. Manage rental income from scaffolding activities, ensuring all income is accurately recorded. Collaborate with external accountants during audits or financial reviews

Qualifications

Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar finance role Proficiency in accounting software Xero is essential Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and general ledger management Excellent organisational skills with attention to detail Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks efficiently Good communication skills and a professional attitude Relevant qualifications in accounting or finance are desirable but not mandatory
