We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Bookkeeper/Administrator to manage certain financial and administrative tasks across multiple business operations in the group.

The ideal Bookkeeper/Administrator will be responsible for bookkeeping, payroll, reconciliations, purchasing, reporting, and general administrative support. You should be commercially minded and good with people. You will be able to communicate effectively and interact with colleagues, suppliers and customers in a positive and professional manner.

The role will be developmental and is likely to change shape over time, as the business develops. You will not be expected to cover all aspects of the job from the start! Working with our existing office and accounts team, you will learn the different elements of the job, starting with basic duties while gaining experience and shaping the role over the next 12-18 months as you take more responsibility.

The Bookkeeper/Administrator position would suit someone with relevant experience seeking a long-term position with a local organisation. Duties & Responsibilities:



Financial Management & Bookkeeping:



Manage bank reconciliations across multiple companies, including bank accounts and credit card transactions. Post and allocate payments/receipts. Process month-end financial tasks such as recharges, prepayments, depreciation, and disposals. Maintain payment folders for different locations Enter purchasing and sales invoices, reconcile accounts, and check supplier statements. Process VAT returns monthly. Work with auditors on year-end financial accounts.

Payroll & Timesheets:



Send, check, and chase timesheets for employees, self-employed contractors, and lorry drivers. Process weekly payroll for self-employed workers and contractors. Set up new employees on Who's Off system, for holiday/absence management. Process monthly salaries for full-time employees.

Administration & Compliance:



Manage supplier payments by bank transfer and cheque. Send customer statements and remittances monthly. Handle correspondence related to new agreements (e.g., land rent, hire purchase agreements). Renew insurance policies and tax company vehicles. Arrange travel for the Managing Director.

Inventory & Procurement:



Sourcing diesel suppliers and negotiating best value for the company Purchase items such as stationery, cleaning materials, packaging, and printing supplies. Track produce sales and verify bulk sale tickets against invoices.

Harvest Operations & Reporting:



Process transport tickets and maintain spreadsheets for harvest tracking. Generate weekly [Brett's] reports and resolve any discrepancies. Conduct stock counting and maintain store plans for accuracy. Assist in monitoring solar panel production and reporting data. Management Information figures reporting.

Skills & Requirements:



Proven experience in bookkeeping and financial administration. Proficiency in accounting software and Excel spreadsheets. Strong attention to detail and excellent organizational skills. Ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently. Good communication skills for liaising with colleagues, suppliers, employees and auditors. Experience of Sage 50 Accounts system Proficient with Microsoft Office, including Excel
