Job Description

Position Overview



We are looking for a meticulous and experienced Bookkeeper to manage financial records and transactions within our manufacturing operations. This role requires a strong grasp of cost accounting, inventory tracking, and production-related financial workflows. The ideal candidate will ensure accurate financial reporting and support operational efficiency across departments.

Key Responsibilities



Maintain and reconcile general ledger accounts specific to manufacturing activities Track raw material purchases, work-in-progress, and finished goods inventory Record and monitor production costs, labour expenses, and overhead allocations Process supplier invoices and manage accounts payable for materials and equipment Manage accounts receivable and customer invoicing for manufactured goods Reconcile bank statements and monitor cash flow Assist with payroll processing, including overtime and shift differentials Prepare monthly financial reports, including cost of goods sold (COGS) and margin analysis Support audits and liaise with external accountants Ensure compliance with industry-specific financial regulations and internal controls

Qualifications



Proven experience in bookkeeping, preferably within a manufacturing environment Proficiency in accounting software (e.g., Sage, QuickBooks, Xero) Strong understanding of cost accounting and inventory management Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills AAT qualification or equivalent (CIMA/ACCA foundation level is a plus)

Working Conditions



Full-time position, typically on-site at the manufacturing facility May require occasional overtime during month-end or audit periods Collaborative work with production, procurement, and external accountants
