We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our dynamic team. The ideal candidate will play a crucial role in maintaining accurate financial records, ensuring compliance with accounting standards, and supporting the overall financial health of the organisation. This position requires proficiency using Xero accounting software and a strong understanding of accounts payable processes.
Responsibilities
Maintain accurate financial records and ledgers using accounting software including Xero.
Process accounts payable and ensure timely payments to suppliers and vendors.
Prepare monthly financial statements and reports for management review.
Reconcile bank statements and resolve discrepancies in a timely manner.
Assist with budgeting and forecasting activities as required.
Ensure compliance with relevant regulations and accounting standards.
Support audits by providing necessary documentation and information as needed.
Collaborate with other departments to ensure accurate financial reporting and analysis.
Prepare Payroll for 15 staff members and forward payment and data to our external accountants.
Liaise with Managers and Directors of businesses within the company group to ensure dividends and other payments are dealt with within the expected timeframe.
Maintain an efficient digital and hard copy filing system for third-party supplier contracts and service-level agreements
Requirements
Proven experience as a Bookkeeper or in a similar role within an accounting environment.
Proficiency in accounting software, particularly the Xero platform.
Strong understanding of accounts payable processes and general accounting principles.
Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.
Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify discrepancies and resolve issues effectively.
Good communication skills, both written and verbal, to interact with team members and third party suppliers.
