We're searching for a

detail?driven, organised, and proactive Bookkeeper

to join the finance team at

CS Heating & Plumbing

Key Responsibilities

Manage and record all financial transactions using accounting software

Xero.

Use our CRM (

Commusoft

) to create and reconcile invoices -- full training provided. Reconcile all payments, including credit card transactions and bank accounts. Maintain accurate accounts payable records; process supplier invoices and payments on time. Organise and manage

service plans

and recurring payments. Prepare financial reports and summaries for monthly management meetings. Lead weekly debtor meetings; chase outstanding debts and liaise with external debt collection agencies when needed. Send monthly statements to letting and estate agents; maintain strong working relationships. Submit monthly

CIS (Construction Industry Scheme)

returns. Work with the

FCA

to compile and submit monthly returns. Liaise with our external bookkeeper and accountant to support the production of full accounts. Support audits by preparing documentation and required financial reports. Ensure compliance with internal policies and relevant financial regulations. Oversee and coordinate internal team members assisting with bookkeeping tasks. Assist with month?end and year?end close processes.
Requirements

Proven experience as a

Bookkeeper

or in a similar financial role. Strong proficiency with

Xero

(essential). Solid understanding of accounts payable, general ledger work, and reconciliation processes. Knowledge of

CIS

and

reverse?charge VAT

is desirable. Familiarity with

FCA reporting

is beneficial. Strong organisational skills and exceptional attention to detail. Ability to work independently, multitask effectively, and manage your own workload. Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal. A recognised qualification in accounting or finance is desirable but not essential.
