Macintyres of Edinburgh is a company specialising in high quality fine jewellery, gemstones and watches. We import, manufacture and sell jewellery and provide full jewellery services including valuations, repairs and refurbishment, insurance replacements and bespoke pieces made to order.

We operate online and through our large 3000 square foot showroom in the heart of central Edinburgh which has become a destination store with customers and clients throughout the UK and abroad.

Working in a small office, you will need to have excellent communication skills to liaise with suppliers, the internal sales team and colleagues. You must be proficient in all elements of Sage Accounts 50. With excellent Excel, Microsoft Word and IT skills, along with the ability to work independently, you will be a key player in ensuring that the business's administration department operates smoothly. You must offer high levels of customer service at all times. You will be required to maintain clear and well-documented filing systems and record-keeping.

Job Specification - the main functions and aspects of this position will involve:



Proficient in all elements of Sage Accounts 50 Purchase ledger processing and reconciliation Accounts payable and credit control Business credit card reconciliation accurate data entry of all invoices Nominal ledger processing Bank reconciliations Cash control, including income and expenditure projections Production, reconciliation and submission of quarterly VAT returns Liaison with our external accountants, produce a monthly/quarterly management account pack Assist external accountants in the preparation of annual statutory accounts Filing of all financial administration Manage and negotiate rates for electricity accounts, merchant services and franking machine Ad hoc projects such as providing financial information for KPI's Internal liaison with the Managing Directors, Directors, IT and sales departments External liaison with suppliers, external accountants and bankers Use Excel, Microsoft packages and in-house IT systems Highly organised and have great attention to detail Strong verbal and written communication skills Strong organisational and time management skills Assist colleagues wherever required Positive attitude
