Job Description

We're Sweet William - a small, passionate and friendly team creating dog-inspired gifts and homewares from our studio in Charlton. We're looking for a meticulous and hands-on Bookkeeper / Administrator to support both the financial health and daily operations of the business.

If you're organised, reliable and not afraid to roll up your sleeves when needed - especially during our busy gifting season - this could be the perfect role for you.

You'll be responsible for managing our bookkeeping and financial reporting, as well as supporting general admin including wholesale processing and supplier coordination. You'll work closely with the business owner and our external accountant to keep everything running smoothly behind the scenes.

Key Responsibilities



Finance & Bookkeeping:



Manage all aspects of the purchase and sales ledger Process weekly payments to suppliers and sub-contractors Chase outstanding payments and manage debtors Reconcile bank statements and company credit cards Run monthly payroll Perform monthly balance sheet reconciliations across all sales platforms Monitor cash flow and raise any red flags early Prepare and submit quarterly VAT returns Prepare monthly management reports Assist in preparing year-end accounts and liaise with our tax accountant Actively look for ways to save on costs and increase sales

Office Admin & Operations:



Enter wholesale orders into Kashflow and raise purchase orders with suppliers Maintain organised and accurate admin and financial records Support general admin tasks as needed across the business Help with order checking

What We're Looking For



Proven bookkeeping experience (3+ years preferred) Strong knowledge of UK accounting principles and VAT Experience using accounting software (ideally Kashflow, Xero or QuickBooks) Excellent attention to detail and highly organised Comfortable juggling priorities and working independently Proactive, helpful and happy to muck in when needed AAT qualified or similar Love of dogs a definite bonus - we're a dog-loving studio!
