Experienced Bookkeeper

Salary:

25,000 - 30,000 per annum (pro-rata)

Hours:

20 - 25 hours per week (flexible work pattern)

Role Overview:



We are seeking a detail-oriented and experienced Bookkeeper to join our team. You will play a crucial role in managing the financial records for our group of companies, ensuring accuracy and compliance. This position is ideal for someone with a strong background in bookkeeping who is looking for a flexible work environment.

Key Responsibilities:



Xero Accounts Management:

Maintain and update financial records using Xero accounting software.

Sales Ledger:

Manage the sales ledger, ensuring timely invoicing and collections.

Purchase Ledger:

Process invoices and maintain the purchase ledger.

Bank Reconciliations:

Perform regular bank reconciliations to ensure accuracy.

Debt Chasing:

Follow up on outstanding debts to ensure prompt payments.

CIS Administration:

Handle Construction Industry Scheme (CIS) compliance and reporting.

Payroll Administration (Optional):

Assist with payroll-related tasks, including timesheet checking, though you will not be running payroll.

Supplier Payment Control:

Oversee and authorize supplier payments.

Support for Management Accountant:

Collaborate with the management accountant to provide necessary financial reports and insights.

Qualifications:



Proven experience as a bookkeeper, ideally within a multi-company environment. Proficient in Xero accounting software. Strong understanding of accounting principles and practices. Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail. Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks effectively. Strong communication skills for liaising with suppliers and management. Construction industry experience helpful but not essential.
