As part of a small but busy team based in Maidstone, Kent, you will be responsible for the processing and posting of financial transactions onto Sage 50, reconciling bank statements and ensuring records are accurate and taxes and invoices are paid on time. You will also assist in the smooth running of the back office and providing support to the management team and maintenance team as required.
Duties
Processing payments, invoices, income and receipts and post on to the accounting system (currently Sage50), either directly or via imports from the maintenance system
Reconciliation of bank statements and prepare financial statements showing business income and expenditure.
Preparation and submission of HMRC taxes (i.e. CIS, VAT, etc)
Supplier and Subcontractor payments and issue of CIS Statements
Preparation of employee payroll and issue of Payslips and management of employee expense claims.
Monitor and report on staff absences
Manage insurance and taxation of company vehicles
Onboarding of new employees
Liaise with the HR consultant as required
Experience
Experience of Sage 50 and excellent bookkeeping skills
Understanding of HMRC rules and regulations, in particular CIS and VAT
Proficiency in using computer systems, ideally with Job Logic experience.
Able to manage multiple tasks and prioritise workload.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Useful to have an understanding of HVAC systems and terminology.
Salary dependent on experience.
