Job Summary:


The Bookkeeper/Office Clerk is responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, performing basic accounting functions, and providing administrative support to ensure the smooth operation of the office. This role requires strong attention to detail, organisational skills, and the ability to manage multiple tasks efficiently.

Key Responsibilities:



Accounting & Bookkeeping:

Record daily financial transactions, including accounts payable and accounts receivable in Xero accounting software. Maintain general ledger, reconcile bank statements, and prepare financial reports. Raise customer invoices and ensure they are issued accurately and on time Manage accounts receivable Managing organisation's cashflow forecasts Monitor and manage invoices, receipts, and expense reports. Ensure compliance with company policies and accounting standards.
Office Administration:

Perform general office duties, including filing, data entry, and maintaining office supplies. Answer phone calls, respond to emails, and handle correspondence. Stock Control for shop, kitchen and housekeeping supplies. Support other staff members with administrative tasks as needed.
Reporting & Communication:

Communicate effectively with clients, suppliers, and colleagues. Identify and report discrepancies or issues in financial records promptly.

Essential:



Proven experience as a bookkeeper, office clerk, or in a similar role. Proficiency with accounting Xero software and Microsoft Office Suite. Strong organisational skills and attention to detail. Ability to handle confidential information with discretion. Excellent written and verbal communication skills.

Desirable:



Knowledge of UK tax, VAT, or financial reporting requirements Previous experience in a similar industry or office environment. Strong problem-solving skills and initiative to improve processes.

Salary: Competitive, dependent on experience Automatic enrolment into a workplace pension scheme. 28 days annual leave, pro rata, including bank holidays. Appointment subject to references and proof of right to work in the UK.
