About Us:

We are a fast-growing UK-based accounting practice working with a wide range of clients -- from small business owners to high-net-worth individuals. As our client base expands rapidly, we're seeking a

highly skilled Bookkeeping Expert

to support ongoing client management and financial control.

This is a

flexible, remote, zero-hour contract role

suited for a

Chartered Accountant or Certified Bookkeeper

who is confident managing complex bookkeeping and VAT work across multiple clients and systems.

Role Overview:

You will be responsible for maintaining accurate financial records, reconciling accounts, managing VAT returns, and ensuring clients' books are ready for management review and year-end preparation.

This role is ideal for someone who combines technical accuracy with a proactive mindset -- ensuring clients stay compliant and organised at all times.

Key Responsibilities:

Complete day-to-day bookkeeping for multiple clients across various industries. Reconcile

bank, credit card, and control accounts

accurately and promptly. Process

sales and purchase invoices

,

expenses

, and

payroll journals

. Prepare and submit

VAT returns

and handle related queries. Maintain clean, reconciled ledgers suitable for year-end accounts. Liaise with clients to request missing records or clarify transactions. Assist accountants with month-end and year-end handovers. Suggest process improvements and help clients streamline record-keeping.

Key Requirements:

ACCA

,

ACA

,

ICB

,

AAT

, or equivalent bookkeeping qualification. Minimum

5+ years' experience

in bookkeeping and VAT preparation. Advanced knowledge of

Xero,

QuickBooks,

&

Sage*.
Strong reconciliation and attention-to-detail skills. Excellent communication, confident liaising directly with clients. Organised, reliable, and able to manage multiple client deadlines independently.

Desirable Skills:

Familiarity with

Dext

,

Hubdoc

, or other data capture tools. Understanding of

management accounts

and cash flow forecasting. Experience with

multi-entity

or

group bookkeeping

setups.
